Installation and upgrade
Requirements, installing the free plugin and Pro, and moving over from Vinyl Sticker Tool without losing your settings.

HTTPS is recommended. The free plugin declares compatibility with WooCommerce High-Performance Order Storage.
Install the free plugin
- Download the ZIP from the download page (a WordPress.org listing is coming).
- In WordPress open Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, choose the ZIP and click Install Now.
- Click Activate Plugin. A Vinyl Lettering menu appears.
- Continue with the setup wizard.
The free plugin has no licence key and does not contact the plugin author.
Upgrade from Vinyl Sticker Tool
Version 7.0.0 has a new name and a new folder (vinyl-lettering-designer), so it installs next to the old plugin instead of replacing it. The two cannot run side by side.
- Back up your site first.
- Install Vinyl Lettering Designer 7.0.7 as above and activate it.
- Deactivate the old Vinyl Sticker Tool plugin. Do not delete it yet: your settings are kept.
- Check Settings → General and Pricing (and Materials for printed stickers). Settings that the old licence had switched off keep the value they were saved with.
The licence layer is gone in 7.0.0: no licence page, no key and no licence check. The licence data of 6.x is removed from the database on update, so going back to 6.x needs re-activation. Deleting the old plugin keeps its data unless its own remove-data option was switched on.
Install Pro
Pro is an add-on: the free plugin and WooCommerce stay active. Skip this step if you do not use Pro.
- Upload the Pro ZIP under Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin and activate it.
- Go to WooCommerce → Pro licence, enter your licence key and click Activate.
Details, including what happens when the licence expires: licence and updates. If the free plugin is missing or too old, Pro stays inactive and says so.
Enable it on products
- Edit a WooCommerce product.
- In Product data, open the Vinyl lettering tab and enable the designer.
- Save. The designer appears on the product page.
Prefer another place? Use the shortcode [vinyl_sticker_tool] on any page. A developer can turn the designer off for a specific product with the filter vst_designer_allowed (see for developers).
Troubleshooting
The designer does not appear on the product page
Check that the designer is enabled in the product's Vinyl lettering tab, and test with a default WordPress theme. If your theme builds the product page differently, place the designer with the shortcode.
Pro activation fails
Your server must be able to make outgoing HTTPS requests to twilper.com. Some hosts block them. See licence and updates.
