You have a website you like and an e-mail inbox that fills up with lettering requests. Let customers design first, so you receive a file you can cut instead of a description.
Website builders and agencies
You build sites for clients on Webflow, Wix, Squarespace or Shopify. Add the designer to a page, set materials and prices in the dashboard, and move on. Embed Agency covers up to ten client domains.
Developers
You already have a cart or a quote system. Event mode gives your code the design, the price and signed file links through a browser event.
How ordering works
Two modes per shop. You choose in the dashboard.
Request mode
The customer designs, then fills in a short form (name, e-mail, optional phone and message) and, if you set a privacy link, ticks a consent box. You get an e-mail with the order request, the design details and two download links: an SVG with one layer per foil colour and a PDF. The request is also listed in your dashboard, where you set it to new, seen or done. The customer gets a confirmation e-mail. Nothing is paid in the designer; you reply with a quote or an invoice.
Event mode
For your own cart. The order is stored on our server and the page receives a vst:checkout event with the design, quantity, price and file links. The links are signed and work for 7 days. Your code puts the item in your cart, or does anything else. Event mode guide

Nothing you send here reaches a real shop and you get no confirmation e-mail. Demo requests go to our own inbox and are deleted after 180 days.

Installation
Paste the snippet where the designer should appear. Replace the shop id with yours from the dashboard. These steps are instructions; we have not tested them in each builder.

Add an Embed element where the designer should appear, paste the snippet and publish. Preview in the Designer does not run custom code; check the published site.
Wix
Use an element that puts the code in the page itself (the custom code option, or a code element for your site type) and paste the snippet. Some Wix widgets run code in a frame; the domain check then sees the frame's domain, not yours.
Squarespace
Add a Code Block, paste the snippet and switch off Display Source.
Shopify theme
In the theme editor choose Add section, then Custom Liquid, and paste the snippet. Use this on a page template; Embed does not touch the Shopify cart (use event mode if you want to).
Plain HTML
Paste the snippet into the page. The script can go in the head or before the element; the div can sit anywhere in the body.
Frequently asked questions
Is this the same designer as the WordPress plugin?
Yes. Embed runs the same designer code: text layers, shapes, fonts, foil colours, a live price and production files. The difference is where it runs. The plugin lives inside WooCommerce; Embed is loaded with one script line on websites that allow a script tag.
Do I need WooCommerce or WordPress?
No. Embed is for sites without WooCommerce, such as Webflow, Wix, Squarespace, a Shopify theme or hand-written HTML (any site that lets you add a script tag). If you run WooCommerce, the free plugin is the better fit.
What happens when a customer orders?
In request mode the customer fills in name, e-mail and optionally a phone number and message. You receive an order request by e-mail with the production files (an SVG per colour layer and a PDF) and the same request is listed in your dashboard. The customer gets a confirmation e-mail without file links. There is no payment in the designer: you answer the request and invoice the customer yourself.
What is event mode?
For developers with their own cart. The designer sends the order to our server, then fires a vst:checkout event on window with the design, price, quantity and signed file links. Your code decides what happens next. See the event mode guide in the docs.
What about privacy and GDPR?
You are the controller of your customers' data; we, Twilper.com (KvK 98440217) in the Netherlands, process the order data on your behalf and offer a processor agreement (verwerkersovereenkomst). Hosting is in the EU (Railway, region europe-west4, the Netherlands). A request holds the name, e-mail, optional phone and message, the design and the generated files. IP addresses are only stored as an irreversible hash for rate limiting. Orders and their files are deleted after 180 days. Details are in the privacy policy and the processor agreement.
Does it work on a site with a strict Content-Security-Policy?
Yes, if you allow https://vinylletteringplugin.com in script-src, style-src, font-src, img-src and connect-src, and blob: in worker-src (without it the manufacturability check runs on the main thread). The designer uses inline styles, so style-src also needs 'unsafe-inline'. The CSP guide lists every directive.
Can I put several designers on one page?
No. Only the first designer element on a page is started; any further ones are ignored.
Which browsers are supported?
Current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on desktop and mobile. The order form uses the native dialog element, so very old browsers are not supported.
Which domains can use my designer?
Only the domains you list in the dashboard: one domain on Embed, up to ten on Embed Agency. In test mode the designer also works on localhost.
How does licensing work?
